Diego Briceno is a printmaker born in Chile and based in New York City. Diego is a printmaking technician at the Art Students League of New York, where he has been working for Tomomi Ono, Caroline Ongpin, Georgia Kung, Lynn Tomaszewsky, and Michael Pelletieri among other distinguished instructors.
Currently Vice President and past President of The Society of American Graphic Artists - a collective of printmakers established in New York in 1915 - Diego has worked to expand and diversify membership, and helped to establish SAGA Gallery, since he joined the organization in 2018.
In 2024 he was resident at Muskat Studios in Somerville MA, as awardee of the Muskat Studios Materials Award for Lithography, at the 75th anniversary of the Boston Printmakers Biennial.
Diego was initially trained as a painter at Liceo Experimental Artístico, in Santiago de Chile, and later obtained a BA in contemporary dance from the Universidad Nacional de San Martín, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Diego’s lithograph, Christodora House, is featured on the book cover of Skyscraper Settlement, by Joyce Milambiling, published in 2023, and his work has been shown at La Maldita Estampa, Barcelona, Spain; Phyllis Harriman Gallery at The Art Students League of New York, NYC; SAGA Gallery, NYC; Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition, NYC; The Old Print Shop, NYC; Providence Art Club, RI; Boston University, Boston, MA; Artists Archive of the Western Reserve, Cleveland, OH; Artlink Contemporary Gallery, Fort Wayne, IN; Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery, Lindsborg KS; and Las Laguna Gallery, Laguna Beach, CA.
